Tidara Tech LLC ("Tidara", "we", "us", "our") is a Texas limited liability company. We build private AI assistants for businesses and for individuals.
This policy covers everyone we hold information about — people who visit this website, people who get in touch, our customers, and the people whose details pass through a customer's assistant. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, ask us and we'll explain it rather than pointing you at a clause.
We use privacy-respecting analytics that count page views without cookies and without building a profile of you. We can see that a page was viewed, roughly where in the world from, and which page sent you — not who you are.
We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not share website traffic data with advertisers.
If you use the chat on this site, what you tap and type is used to have that conversation and to help us respond usefully. If you choose to give us your name and mobile number at the end, that becomes an enquiry — see the next section.
If you contact us — through the chat, by email, or by message — we keep:
We use it to reply to you, to work out whether we can help, and to keep track of the conversation so you don't have to repeat yourself. It goes into our own customer records. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to anyone else's list.
If you give us your mobile number, you are agreeing that we may reply to you by text message. Message and data rates may apply, depending on your plan and carrier. You can stop the messages at any time by replying STOP or simply telling us to stop — either works, and we treat both the same way.
We do not message people who have not asked to hear from us, and we never buy, rent or share phone numbers.
Building an assistant means it needs to know things. What it knows depends entirely on what you choose to connect and share, and you decide that at your own pace.
Depending on what you ask for, that may include:
We use it for exactly one thing: running the assistant you asked us to build, and supporting it. Nothing else.
Some assistants are asked to keep an eye on an inbox or a message thread. This is optional, it is off unless you ask for it, and it is limited to the specific accounts you point it at. You can change your mind or disconnect an account at any time. An assistant does not listen to your microphone or read anything you have not connected.
Tidara Personal is our self-serve assistant for individuals and households. If you sign up for it, this is specifically what happens with your information.
Connecting Google is optional and you can do it, or undo it, at any time. When you connect, you grant your assistant permission to view, add, change and cancel events on your Google Calendar. It cancels an event only after you reply YES to a text from Tidara naming it. It cannot reach your email or any other Google service. The one exception is a small number of invited early testers, who can choose to let it read their Gmail, save draft emails and send an email for them; it sends only after they reply YES to a text from Tidara showing who the email goes to and exactly what it says.
Your assistant uses this access only to do what you ask it in conversation and to prepare your daily briefing. We store an encrypted access credential on our server; we do not copy your mailbox or calendar in bulk, and we keep only what's needed to answer the request in front of it.
Tidara's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is never used for advertising, never sold, never used to train AI models, and never read by a human at Tidara except with your explicit permission to resolve a support issue you've raised.
To disconnect: ask your assistant to disconnect Google, text DELETE, or remove Tidara at myaccount.google.com/connections. We remove the stored credential when you do any of these.
Connecting Microsoft (Outlook.com, Hotmail, Live or Microsoft 365) is optional. It lets your assistant view, add, change and cancel events on your Outlook calendar, search and read your email, save draft replies, send an email for you, and search and read files in your OneDrive. It sends an email only after you reply YES to a text from Tidara showing who it goes to and exactly what it says (for example, a refund request you asked it to chase), and it cancels a calendar event only after you reply YES to a text naming it. It uses this only to do what you ask and to prepare your daily briefing; we store an encrypted credential and do not copy your mailbox, calendar or files in bulk. To disconnect: ask your assistant, text DELETE, or remove Tidara at account.live.com/consent/Manage (work accounts: myapps.microsoft.com).
Apple doesn't offer a "connect" button for calendars, so connecting your iPhone calendar uses an app-specific password that you create at account.apple.com and enter on your private setup page (never by text). Your assistant uses it to view, add, move and cancel events on your iCloud calendars and, if you agree (on your setup page, or by saying yes when your assistant asks), to search and read your iCloud Mail inbox and save drafts there. It never sends, deletes or moves your email, and it never uses the password for your contacts or anything else. Text "stop reading my iCloud email" any time to turn mail off. We store it encrypted, and we never ask for, accept or store your regular Apple ID password. To disconnect: delete the app-specific password at account.apple.com (Sign-In and Security, App-Specific Passwords), or text DELETE. Once it's deleted at Apple, it stops working immediately and we remove our copy.
You can save a card on your private setup page so your assistant can buy things you ask for. Your card number goes directly to our payment processor, Stripe, through Stripe's own secure form; Tidara never sees or stores it. We keep only the card brand, its last four digits, its expiry and the billing address you enter, plus the limits you set (most per purchase, most per month, and kinds of purchases never to make). Your assistant asks you before every purchase, with the store, what it's buying and the total, and only buys after you reply yes. Each approved purchase is charged to your saved card for that amount and paid with a one-time card number that only works for that amount, is cancelled after use, and never reaches the AI model. We keep a record of each purchase (store, description, amount, date and the confirmation page) so you can see your spending. To remove your card, use your setup page or text DELETE.
You can connect Govee lights (with an API key you get in the Govee Home app and enter on your private setup page) or Philips Hue lights (by signing in with your Hue account). Your assistant uses these only to see your lights and rooms and to turn them on or off, dim them and change their color when you ask. We store the key or sign-in token encrypted. Tidara never controls locks, garage doors, alarms or cameras. To disconnect, use your setup page, delete the key in the Govee app or remove Tidara in your Hue account, or text DELETE.
If you connect Sonos (by signing in with your Sonos account), your assistant can see your Sonos rooms, what's playing and your Sonos Favorites and playlists, and can play, pause, skip, change volume and group rooms when you ask. We store only an encrypted sign-in token; disconnect on your setup page, in your Sonos account or by texting DELETE.
If you connect Google Home (this needs Google's Home Premium Advanced subscription), your assistant can see the devices and rooms in your Google Home, check their state and history, and control them when you ask. We store only an encrypted sign-in token; you can disconnect on your setup page, in your Google account or by texting DELETE. Locks, garage doors, alarms, security systems and cameras are never controlled. For Apple Home, nothing is connected to us: your assistant texts you a short line like "🏠 Good night", and a Shortcuts automation you made on your iPhone runs that scene.
This is optional. If you set up the forwarding automation on your iPhone (the steps are on your setup page), your phone sends Tidara a copy of the texts you receive, with the sender's name or number. Your assistant uses them to tell you what needs your attention, suggest a reply, or add a date to your calendar. Forwarded texts are handled like your other messages: they're kept in your conversation history and sent to our AI provider to produce replies. Verification codes, reactions and one-word replies like "ok" are dropped before your assistant sees them. You decide what comes through: text IGNORE to mute the last sender (or IGNORE followed by a number), FORWARDING OFF to pause everything, or delete the automation on your iPhone to stop. The people who text you haven't signed up to Tidara, so section 4 applies to their details; leave out conversations you'd rather keep to yourself.
Also optional. If you add the "Reply from Tidara" shortcut and text REPLIES ON, your assistant can answer a text for you. Tidara first texts you the exact words and the number they'd go to, and nothing is sent unless you reply YES. Your iPhone then sends that one message from your own number, through your own carrier, like any text you send. Tidara's number never texts the other person, and your assistant can't send anything else this way. Text REPLIES OFF or delete the automation to stop.
Your assistant can follow deliveries headed to you. You can text it a tracking number, or set up an email rule that forwards order and shipping emails to your private package address (it ends in @track.tidaratech.com); if you've connected Outlook, it also looks for shipping emails there. Forwarded emails pass through Cloudflare's email service to our server, where we read only what's needed to follow the package: the store, the order number, what was ordered, the tracking number and the delivery estimate. We don't keep the email itself. Tracking numbers are sent to 17TRACK to get carrier updates, without your name, address or phone number. Package records are deleted 30 days after delivery, and right away when you text DELETE. To stop, delete the email rule or ask your assistant to stop tracking.
Where this is turned on, your assistant can open a website in a secure browser hosted by Browserbase to fill in a form or an order for you, using details you've given it. It never enters bank details or passwords, and never signs in for you. When a site needs you to sign in, you get a private link to the same live page and sign in yourself. You then stay signed in to that site in your own remembered browser, kept by Browserbase, so later errands there don't need you again. Tidara never sees or stores your passwords; the site's sign-in (its cookies) stays in that remembered browser. To sign out of every site at once, text SIGN OUT STORES or use your setup page; deleting your account does the same. Unless you've saved a card for purchases and approved the specific purchase (see below), it stops before payment and you finish it on the live page yourself. Anything you type on that page goes to the website through Browserbase's browser; Tidara doesn't save it. These browser sessions are not recorded, and each one closes automatically within about 40 minutes.
Your assistant will inevitably hold details about other people — your customers, your staff, your family, people who write to you. Two things follow from that.
What we do: we treat that information exactly as we treat yours. It stays on your infrastructure, it is not pooled or sold, and it is not used to train anything.
What you should know: where the information belongs to your business's customers or staff, you remain responsible for it under whatever rules apply to you, and we act on your instructions in handling it. If someone asks you to delete their information, tell us and we will remove it from your assistant.
Tidara is a small company. Today, the only person at Tidara with access to customer information is our founder, Joe Michetti. This is what he can see, and when:
If anyone else is ever given access, they'll be bound by confidentiality and these same rules, and we'll update this section.
No system is perfectly secure and we will not claim otherwise. If something happened that affected your information, we would tell you promptly and plainly.
Running an assistant means using a small number of outside services — hosting, AI model providers, messaging, and backup storage. They process information only to deliver the service to you, and they are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.
We do not send your information to advertisers, data brokers, or anyone else. If we are ever legally compelled to disclose something, we will tell you unless the law forbids it.
For Tidara Personal the list is short: DigitalOcean (hosting, United States), Anthropic (AI model), Twilio (text messages), Stripe (payments), OpenAI (voice-note and recording transcription, and pictures you ask for), Brave Search (web searches), Browserbase (the hosted browser used when your assistant fills in a web page for you), Cloudflare (receives emails sent to your package address), 17TRACK (package tracking updates), and, only if you connect them, Google, Microsoft, Apple, Govee, Philips Hue, Google Home and Sonos. Weather lookups send only a place name or ZIP code to OpenStreetMap, the US National Weather Service or MET Norway. For custom business builds, ask and we will give you the specific list for your build.
Customer information is kept for as long as we are running your assistant, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back — unless you ask us to delete it sooner, in which case we do. For Tidara Personal that period is 90 days after your account goes inactive, and then it is erased (see section 3).
Enquiries from people who don't become customers are kept while the conversation is live and for a while after, then removed.
Whoever you are, and wherever you live, you can ask us to:
Email support@tidaratech.com and we'll do it. Tidara Personal customers can also text DELETE to their assistant, which erases everything within a minute, no email needed. We won't make you fill in a form, and we won't charge you.
Depending on where you live you may have additional legal rights — for example under California or European law. We apply the list above to everyone rather than sorting people by postcode.
Our service is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children. A family assistant may hold details a parent has entered about their own children — appointments, school forms and the like — and that information is treated with the same protections as everything else, under the parent's control.
If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell existing customers directly rather than relying on you to notice.
